British Columbia is making changes to Medical Services Plan (MSP) payments. As of January 1, 2018, MSP rates were cut in half. Fees for individuals and families will be eliminated completely as of January 1, 2020.
As of January 1, 2019, employers will be paying a new payroll tax (the “employer health tax”) based on the total payroll amount for the business. During 2019, both individuals and employers will be paying a tax for health care.

Rooof will cover MSP payments for employees while the burden of payments for health care is still on the individual (2018/2019). Rooof will only reimburse MSP costs that are not paid for by another party. You are required to inform Rooof if another party pays any portion of your MSP expense now or if that status changes. You will be reimbursed for your eligible MSP expense on your regular pay cheques. You are still personally responsible to ensure that your MSP bills are paid.
